Joana I. Robalo 

I'm a professor at Ispa - Instituto de Ciências Psicológicas, Sociais e da Vida and a researcher at MARE/ARNET.  At Ispa I am the  Director of the Biology Degree and I teach several courses in the Biology and Psychology Degrees and also in the Marine Biology and Conservation Master's course. I also coordinate the Evolutionary Genetics Lab.

At MARE I am member of the board and also the coordinator of the research line Biodiversity and Ecosystem Functioning.

My main research interests include the phylogeny, phylogeography, and biogeography of marine and freshwater fishes. In recent years, I have been developing a research line that I like to call «Molecular toolbox for biological sciences: a problem-solving oriented approach,» which includes conservation, stock delimitation, and fisheries management.
